What is a Community of Practice?
A community of practice is a group of people who share a common goal, shared challenges, or an interest in a topic. These groups come together on a regular basis to share best practices and create new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. 

Goals of the Hidden Crux Community of Practice
The goal of the Hidden Crux community of practice is to bring together climbing coaches to examine issues and opportunities surrounding supporting athletes' mental wellness and performance. This community will come together monthly for the duration of the USA Climbing season to learn from one another, and explore a range of topics, including:

  • Positive coaching practices to develop the whole athlete

  • Highlighting challenges and stressors for both athletes and coaches, and strategies to overcome them

  • Integrating mental training into your coaching practice

  • How to develop mental performance plans for each level of competition

  • And more!

Dates
Fridays at 11AM EST + 8AM PST

  • September 15: Intros + Purpose

  • September 29: Positive Coaching Practices

  • October 20: Athlete Mental Wellness

  • November 10: Competition Stress + Anxiety

  • December 1: Mental Performance Plans

  • December 8: Coach Mental Wellness

Cost
Full membership to the Community of Practice is available on a pay-what-you-can basis. After the first meeting coaches will be able to drop in for $10 per session. Once you’re signed up, expect an email with more information and video links!
